07.03.2011: Toper › Skiing Desert Fox Past Sunday, the third Ski Challenge took place at Krvavec ski resort. This time the challenger was Miran Stanovnik, Slovenian extreme motorcyclist also known as Desert Fox. He impressed the crowd with perfect telemark skiing and even more with skiing dressed as 'kurent' – traditional Slovenian mask, weighing more than 15 kg. 22.02.2011: Toper › Gorje primary school cross country skiers achieved excellent results at International Children's Ga Toper equipped cross country team representing primary school Gorje that participated at International Children Games. The games took take place in Kelowna, Canada. Around 1.000 participants from 40 cities worldwide will competed at the games. Gorje primary school cross country skiers achieved excellent results and were second in the medal table. Also teams from Maribor and Celje participated at the games. Congratulations to all!

21.02.2011: Toper › Slovenian Olympic hopes in Toper clothing Last week, The Winter European Youth Olympic Festivals 2011 ended in Liberec, Czech Republic. Slovenian representatives competed in alpine skiing, biathlon, snowboarding, nordic combined, ski jumping, cross country skiing and figure skating. They achieved excellent results, among them also three medals: Eli Plut won the giant slalom race and was second in slalom. Lea Einfalt was second in cross country skiing – 5 km. The Slovenian team was equipped by Toper.

17.01.2011: Toper › Toper equipped International Children's Games participants Toper equipped cross country team representing primary school Gorje that will participate at International Children Games. The games will take place from 16. to 31. January in Kelowna, Canada. Around 1.000 participants from 40 cities worldwide will compete at the games. The International Children's Games is an International Olympic Committee-sanctioned event held every year where children from cities around the world and between the ages of 12 and 15 participate in a variety of sports. The first games were organized in 1968 in Celje, Slovenia.

18.10.2010: Toper › Toper warehouse robbed! Toper warehouse located at Cesta v Gorice 3 in Ljubljana was robbed on Sunday night. Thieves stole complete stock of the new Toper Fall-Winter collection during the night. The company managed to supply first part of the new collection to LCS, Intersport stores and other retailers on Friday. On Monday the employees were shocked by this catastrophic surprise. The collection was made of high quality materials, with modern design and suitable for professional athletes and recreational sportsmen. Part of the new collection was also designed in attractive retro style. At the company they do not know how will they fulfill the demand for the new collection and when. The most suspicious fact regarding this unfortunate event is that the collection arrived on Thursday and employees felt being watched during work. 21.09.2010: Toper › Toper revival in Manager magazine Or how Toper was revived out of nothing. This was noticed also by Manager magazine and described in article Toper article Kako sta Toper in Planika vstala od mrtvih (Slovenian language, registration required). The article shortly summarized below was written by Bojana Humar and Petra Šubic and published in September 2010. When we bought the Toper brand all we got was logotype and right to use it, without blueprints, descriptions, products, production and sales channels … We started from the beginning, so investment in Toper revival is long-term. Main target markets are Central and Eastern European countries. Toper is also main sponsor of Slovenian Olympic team for Vancouver 2010 and London 2012 and we plan to cooperate with Slovenian Olympic committee for Soči 2014. The strategy for the first season was to point out that the legendary Slovenian brand is back supporting the Slovenian Olympic team and winning again. In the future we will be more focused on technologically advanced clothing in sports where Toper had already been a leading brand. Skiing will be prevalent in winter collections and biking and running in summer apparel. Both collections will be complemented by casual clothing... The new winter garments were already tested by Vid Baruca, member of Slovenian demo ski-team.

14.09.2010: Toper › 8RK T-shirts available in November 8RK T-shirts, developed by Toper and Robert Koren, the captain of Slovenian national football team, will be available in LCS stores from November. As stated in previous news, the main purpose of 8RK brand is to increase the recognition of this excellent football player and also to finance the charity foundation Fundacija 8RK.

10.09.2010: Toper › Toper visited Eurobike, the biggest cycling trade fair in the World Eurobike, the biggest cycling trade fair in the World took place from August 31 to September 4 in Friedrifshafen, Germany. The fair is being organized since 1991 and all the biggest and most influential cycling brands participate each year. We at Toper also decided to visit the fair and take a look at all novelties and new trends. 1,090 exibitors participated this year and we plan to be among them in the future. This year, the fair attracted 41,482 trade visitors from 102 countries and 1,732 journalists from 35 countries and we see our future participation at this event as very important. Among novelties we would like to point out the stitching technology. We saw new trend of seamless production of cycling clothes last year, but this year classic stitching technology came back. The usability of seamless technology proved to be questionable in practical use as torn 'seams' are difficult to repair. Last year we decided not to follow this trend immediately and to wait and see how this new technology will perform. For now, we made the right decision, as classic stitching we use prevailed in cycling clothes presented at the fair this year. We will continue to closely monitor cycling technology and trends and we plan to visit the Eurobike fair also next year.
